Reno-based, non-profit handbell ensemble, Tintabulations, presents "Thanks for the socks," a 2016 holiday concert held Dec. 19 in Carson City at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, 3870 South Carson Street, beginning at 7 p.m.
Growing from a group of director Barb Walsh's elementary school music students wishing to continue ringing with her, 'Tintab' (as fondly known by their ever growing fan base) now consists of people ranging in ages from their 20's to their 60's: college students to retirees.
Innovative and energetic, Tintab has been gaining more and more recognition for their ringing style and skill. In the Spring of 2012 they were honored by performing the opening concert at the National Handbell Festival in Portland, OR.
More recently they were further honored as one of only two handbell ensembles to represent the United States at the International Handbell Symposium, held in Vancouver, B.C. this past July. Performing there caught the eye and ear of directors and fellow ringers from around the world, resulting in invitations to perform in every corner of the globe.
With the vision to educate diverse communities with entertaining performances that exceed standard handbell convention, Tintab seeks to entertain a broad, multi-generation audience with interpretations of music from multiple genres and sources. This is accomplished by fostering an ensemble whose members consistently strive to better themselves as musicians.
